About

Humblemaker is a small-batch coffee roaster from Los Angeles. We source traceable coffees, roast them in small batches every week, and sell them to home brewers, cafes and restaurants, and we pour them at our own cafe in Del Rey.

Roasters first

The people behind Humblemaker bring over 25 years of combined roasting experience, built on production floors at some of the most respected specialty roasteries on both coasts. Between us, we have run roasting programs, built and managed wholesale accounts, trained baristas, opened cafes and launched a roastery of our own. Humblemaker is where that experience comes together: one small team, roasting coffee we are proud to put our name on.

How we roast

We roast so the flavors of each coffee can shine through. Every coffee we receive is as good as it is ever going to be when it leaves the farm. No roast can make a coffee better; the only thing we can do is mess it up. That's why we taste every batch, adjusting until we land on a profile that shows each coffee in its best light. We roast on a Loring in small batches every week, so what reaches your bag, or your bar, is fresh.

Where our coffee comes from

We buy traceable lots and name the people who grew them. Right now that includes the ASOPCAFA producer association in Aipe, Huila, Colombia, and Bedhatu Jibicho, a single producer in Gedeb, Ethiopia. Every bag lists the region, producer, altitude and process, so you know exactly what you are drinking.
